Albert A. Stoddard, III, Ph.D.

Senior Project Scientist

Dr. Stoddard is currently working on projects involving groundwater, surface water, and stormwater permitting, monitoring, treatment, and control. Dr. Stoddard also consults for Phase I and Phase II environmental site investigations, in addition to forensic investigations in pesticide misuse, misapplication, contamination, and crop injury.  Dr. Stoddard has also conducted risk assessments, custom compliance reports, and variance request packages to Florida and Kentucky regulatory authorities.

Dr. Stoddard’s knowledge and experience in hydrology and soil science has led to the successful completion of geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations involving subsurface characterizations via soil borings, groundwater monitoring, and hydrologic simulation. Dr. Stoddard has also completed projects to estimate nutrient and pollutant loading into surface waters. As part of the above investigations, permit applications and monitoring plans have been completed for sites requiring NPDES permits, solid waste facility (landfill) monitoring, surface water controls, and regulatory exposures and reviews.

In the past, Dr. Stoddard has conducted proprietary agricultural experimentation on the efficacy, environmental fate, and non-target effects of pesticides that led to the development, labeling, and regulatory approval of products used in agriculture today.

Dr. Stoddard’s knowledge in soil and water chemistry, laboratory analysis, hydrology, agriculture, and botany can provide valuable technical assistance to LAN’s clients for cost-effective environmental compliance efforts.
