Michael Carpenter

Project Scientist

Mr. Carpenter serves as a Project Scientist for numerous projects, including hazardous waste remedial investigations, wastewater projects, soil and groundwater investigations, and also serves as a technical researcher.

Mr. Carpenters’ experience includes conducting Phase I and Phase II investigations, providing on-site analytical services to hazardous waste remedial investigations, conducting CERCLA remedial investigations and feasibility studies, litigation support, conducting environmental claims investigations, providing health and safety consulting and monitoring services, stormwater and erosion control inspections, conducting soil and groundwater quality investigations.

Mr. Carpenter began working in the environmental consulting business in 2012. He has a strong collegiate background in the environmental sciences and research fields.

Mr. Carpenter’ service to the company has been both valuable and diverse. His assistance in various projects and studies has helped to better facilitate the day-to-day process of the company. He has conducted numerous soil and groundwater sampling events for private and governmental clients. He has been influential in the oversight of well drillings and soil excavations. Mr. Carpenter has also participated in surface water sampling projects and species identification pertaining to wastewater and wetland compliance projects.

Mr. Carpenter additionally serves as the primary GIS and CAD designer on all applicable LAN Associates, Inc. projects. Typical responsibilities include soil and groundwater mapping, facilities process diagramming, site due diligence analysis, and geographic information database management.  Specific GIS tasks may include spatial and data analysis, data creation and acquisition, aerial photo interpretation, onscreen digitizing, data conversion and migration to GIS, spatial editing and tabular attribution, cartography and presentation mapping, client consultation and staff support, and tool automation.
